Shifting Directions... Deaf ABA

Good evening!

It's been... a hot minute. But hi, it's Jacqui Wunderlich from Signs of Communication LLC. You may have noticed less from me and there's a reason for that. Over the last year, I've become more and more disillusioned with the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. But in large part, that has to do with health insurance, the "autism industry", and the culture which revolves around those, often which is not accessible or inclusive of people like me. People often sought free labor or expected me to do everything without charging for my time. I chose to leave my job working full-time as a BCBA and begin to work for a non-profit outside of the ABA field. It's brought me a lot of joy.

But this hasn't changed my love for the science of ABA. Or the mission to support the Deaf community with linguistically and culturally specialized behavioral health services.

So Signs of Communication LLC is winding down -- I no longer intend to provide direct services or look to provide consultation services. But I do want to continue sharing what I've made thus far and we'll see where that goes from here.

I've started the process of putting the entire video glossary in ASL onto YouTube to ensure it's more accessible to those who need or want it and... yeah. Welcome to the new journey. Please feel free to check it out or maybe even subscribe.

Thanks,

Jacqui
